Neurology Resident at McMaster University

Dr David Rossolatos is a senior neurology resident at McMaster University. He completed his medical degree at the University of Alberta, where he also earned a Master of Science in psychopharmacogenetics. His academic work includes co-authoring peer-reviewed publications and a book chapter, reflecting a longstanding interest in personalized medicine and the role of genetics in clinical care. He is currently pursuing a career in general neurology with a particular interest in sleep medicine.

During medical school, David completed electives in rural Alberta and participated in international medical exchanges in Greece at Alexandroupoli and the Cyclades—experiences that sparked a lasting interest in delivering care to underserved and remote communities.

Originally from a village on the island of Syros in the Aegean, David immigrated to Edmonton for post-secondary education. During his time there, he volunteered as a Greek language instructor and led several nonprofit initiatives to promote community sport and engagement. These included founding Edmonton’s first community tennis association to activate underused public courts, serving as Vice President of Tennis Edmonton, and serving on the Board of Directors of Tennis Alberta, where he launched Canada’s first live-streaming channel for provincial and national tennis competitions. His favorite project was serving on the organizing committee that hosted the Canada vs India Davis Cup tie in Edmonton. For his contributions to community tennis development, David received multiple awards at the municipal, provincial, and national levels.

David currently holds a learner license to practice medicine in Canada through the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario and in Greece through the Cycladic Medical Association, reflecting his commitment to serving communities on both sides of the Atlantic.

Since 2022, he has served as Vice President of the Canadian Hellenic Medical Society, working to expand and strengthen Canada’s Hellenic medical community from coast to coast as well as foster ties with colleagues in Greece. He also contributes to the Hellenic Heritage Foundation as a member of its Next Gen Committee.

Outside of medicine, David enjoys playing tennis and sailing—whether around Lake Ontario or island hopping across the Aegean Sea.
