Dr. Elena Koskinas is a first-year Family Medicine resident at the University of Toronto. She practices in the heart of Toronto’s Greektown at Michael Garron Hospital – the very community where she grew up. Dr. Koskinas proudly celebrates her ancestry and actively seeks opportunities to collaborate with fellow Greeks and promote Greek heritage. She frequently visits Greece, spending much of her time there in the seaside village of Paralio Astros. Her mother was born in the small town of Risovo (Krestena) and her father grew up in Athens.
Dr. Koskinas is deeply committed to providing comprehensive, community-based care, with a special interest in Sport & Exercise Medicine. She holds an undergraduate degree in Kinesiology from Western University, a certificate in Athletic Therapy from Mount Royal University, and a Master of Rehabilitation Science from McMaster University. Before medical school, she worked as a Certified Athletic Therapist for four years. She completed her medical degree at the University of Limerick in Ireland, managing to visit Greece three times during her studies.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Koskinas enjoys teaching group fitness classes, cooking, and photography. She treasures time with her husband, their dog, and their baby daughter.
