Hippocratic Week 2025: Bridging Tradition and Innovation

A Global Celebration of Hippocratic Values
The Hippocratic Week – Hippocratic School was formally established in 2022 by Dr. George Patoulis, President of the Global Doctors’ Hippocratic Institute (GDHI), during the 1st Congress of Greek Diaspora Physicians in Melbourne. With the active involvement of GDHI Vice President Dr. K. Pantou, Secretary General Dr. A. Polydorou, and honorary member and Deputy Minister of Health Marios Themistokleous, the initiative was envisioned as a way to unite physicians worldwide under the timeless values of Hippocrates.
Since its founding, Hippocratic Week has grown into an international educational and cultural event featuring lectures, ceremonies, and exchange programs. Each year, it brings together students and professors of medicine from Greece and abroad alongside distinguished physicians of multiple specialties. Under the auspices of the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, the University of Thessaly, and the Athens Medical Association, this year’s program will unfold across Athens, Larissa, and Kos, including symbolic ceremonies at the Asclepieion of Kos, the birthplace of Hippocratic medicine.

Continuing the Legacy
Hippocratic Week offers a vital reminder that medicine is not only a science but also a philosophy of care, grounded in ethics, compassion, and humanism. By participating in these celebrations, CHMS seeks to connect our Canadian Hellenic community to this global movement, honouring Hippocrates’ legacy while engaging in thoughtful dialogue about the future of medicine.
We warmly invite you to join us as we celebrate Hippocratic Week 2025 — bridging tradition and innovation in healthcare.
